So there I am in the back of the club surrounded by leeches and hanger ons. Beautiful women looking for free drinks and a little exposure with a mild celebrity like myself. I’m no Mick Jagger or even a Jack Black, but there are enough people out there that shout "BBD" when I walk by to prove I’ve got a little exposure with Dream and Defiance wrestling.

But I digress, there I am with these people sucking on alcohol well past the last call as some song by the Black Eyed Peas fills the near empty club for the umpteenth time! Throwing money around has it’s perks but as I look to my watch and see that it’s nearing 5 in the morning and I’m hours away from wrestling B. R. Ellis I start to think maybe it’s time I start heading back to the hotel and get some sleep.

The thought is short lived as another thought fills my head. There is one thing I love in this business more than anything and that is this, victory. I love to win. Winning gets you money, winning gets you fame; winning can even get you power. Not only do I love to win but there are just two ways that satisfy me. One, I love a hard fought battle with a tough opponent with me coming back from a beating Rocky style. The odds stacked against me, I use the Eye of the Tiger and overcome my adversary and score the ultimate goal. But then there is number two…

Second, I love a no-show! When my opponent fails to show up for the bout, to me nothing is sweeter. Why? Because it’s an easy pay day. Not only does it pad my wallet, but it pads my stat count as well. Look at Goldberg’s streak in the late wCw. He didn’t even come into the wCw with an 0-0 clean slate, no he came in with wins, and then he perfected the squash match earning victory after victory over cans. Here I am in the same boat facing another can in B.R. Ellis. Let the bell ring, let me razzle and dazzle and then score an easy one, two three. Why? Because I love a no-show!

The party continues as I continue to drink my favorite combination, Jack and Coke. The match with Ellis far from my mind.
